A hidden world of magic didn't seem possible, at least not until the Statue of Secrecy was broken and it was decided both worlds would be better off without it. Everyone in the world is now connected, woven within a web of lies, magic, deception, love, fear, friendship, hate, life, and anguish. Many have profited from the changes that have been made and have moved on with their lives, but for others the end is very near. It was Tuesday afternoon, a very wet Tuesday afternoon and Terrance stood looking at the door infront of him. He felt uneasy and had been standing looking at the door for a good half hour now trying to decide if he really wanted to go in or not. It had been some time now since he had last spoke to Iris. It had been the longest they had gone without talking but he had promised to give her space. It had been difficult but he couldn't wait any longer. How could he forget about what happened, he couldn't help but replay the night in his head.
It had started out as dinner. He had decorated the roof area, made the perfect food. Heck he had even dressed up, he even smiled all night and then he finally built up the courage to ask her. This was the part he played back constantly. He had taken her in to his arms, told her how much he loved her, that he couldn't live without her even though she made him crazy at times and that she was a Hufflepuff. He had gotten down on one knee and pulled out a ring box. The ring he had spent months saving for and getting it custom made. He had looked directly at her and told her he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Then he had said it.
"Iris, Will you marry me?" He had asked. " be my wife".
And then there was silence. The silence killed him and that was it. Terrances feet were numb now. He had to go in , he had to see her. He needed to know. Taking a deep breath and pushing on the handle of the door Terrance walked in, bringing a puddle of rain water with him.

The shop had closed for the day. Most people were usually done with snacks and tea by about five so that's when she closed. It made it so she still had some of an evening to herself. A frown fell on her face at that thought. She was alone yet again. As much as she wanted to talk to Terrance she felt she had messed up really bad this time. The question had thrown her through a loop. It wasn't that she didn't want to marry him, it was just...very sudden. She had thoughtit would take him longer to even think about marriage. It wasn't like she was going to go anywhere, after what, three years she was still interested in him, she definitely wasn't getting over him.
The bell above the door shook her from her thoughts and she sighed as she stood up straight from wiping down the table she had been cleaning. "Sorry we're clo-" her eyes fell onto the person and she froze.
He was dripping wet, but it was him. She bit her lip nervously, not sure if this was a good thing. This whole thing was mostly her fault and she should have been the one to fix it, but she hadn't known what to say. It was rather frustrating, but she didn't want to go to him and say the wrong thing, or act like nothing has happened.
Her brain clicked back on and she moved over to him. "Terrance, you're soaked," she said quietly, hesitantly. She grasped his hand and pulled at it, hoping he would at least let her sit him. "I'll put some tea on, you could get sick," she said her voice stronger.

He felt her. He felt her hand take his and drag him to a chair. He wasn't going to fight her on this. His legs were sore from standing outside for too long. Now sitting, Terance watched as Iris went to make tea. He wasn't a fan but something warm right now was needed. He kept his eyes on her. She looked as beautiful as ever and he wanted to kiss her so badly but he was mad at her still. Really mad.
He didn't want to upset her. He had done enough of that in the past. He was serious, he was serious about their future together. He wanted her to be his wife so bad. He even shocked himself with his decision to settle down.
"We need to talk. We need to sort this now Iris, I can't wait any longer" he said loudly.

Iris jumped slightly at his voice as she came back to the table with a couple cups of tea. She places one down in front of him and sat across from him her hands wrapped around her mug. She frowned at him. She let out a groan and then sighed.
She rested her head in one of her hands and gently spun her cup in the other. "Yeah I know..." she started trailing off.
She wasn't sure what to say to him. Well she partly did she supposed. "You're being do demanding," she mumbled before looking up at him, taking her eyes away from the cup.
It took another sigh and her looking away from him to gather her thoughts.she wanted to explain before she gave him her answer. "You know, it shocked me, your proposal...I knew that I loved you and wanted to be with you," she started a blush blooming on her face. "And with everything that happened and us getting our friendship sorted a-and spending more time together I was good. A-And then you-I-I mean...it wasn't something I expected. And I didn't think you were interested in me in that way," she stopped talking when she realized she was rambling.
She cleared her throat and looked at him. "I-It was just a lot to process,"

He had made her jump. Thus had not been his intention,he simply wanted answers. He had never seen her jump like that before. Watching as she placed a mug in front of him, Terrance took it grateful of the warmth now spreading around both of his hands. Looking up he saw that she had frowned and sighed before trailing in to her excuse.
Letting Iris finish speaking, Terrance sat with a frown on his face. How was he supposed to answer back without shouting. Closing his eyes , Terrance took a deep breath before speaking.
"Demanding? Really Iris come off it" he snapped back at her. Taking a sip out of his cup he waited a moment before continuing.
" we've got a history , we've been through so much together, did you think I was just in this for the laughs?" He shouted.
Trying to calm down. He stretched out his hand and took one of hers.
" It hurts that you even need to question my interest in you, If I didn't love you I wouldn't have proposed, heck i wouldn't even be here if I didn't want to spend my life with you".
Letting go of her hand, Terrance put it back round his own mug. He just wanted answers and right now it felt like he wasn't getting any.
"We need to work this out and I need to know what you want to do going forward"

Iris glared at him. "Of course I didn't think you were in it for laughs! But you told me to quit thinking about marriage! What the hell am I supposed to think Terrance!?" She yelled back, really angry for once.
She bit her tongue as he spoke trying to calm down, but it was getting difficult to do. He grasped one of her hands and she resisted the urge to move her hand away, she was mad at him and that's what people who were mad did, right?
"It's not...." she paused and took a breath and tried collecting her thoughts. "I don't doubt how you feel...anymore. The proposal cleared all that up...It was just a lot for me to process," she said finally.
The blond shook her head and sighed. "I'd like to spend my life with you..." she said biting her lip nervously. "I-If you still want to put up with me for all eternity," she added smiling a little.

Terrance watched. This all depended on her now. He had made his case, stated his feleings and had practically spelled it right out to her . This was not on him anymore. Sitting as she yelled back at him, Terrance said nothing. He didn’t plan on interrupting until she had finished shouting and giving him the answer he deserved. Still watching and listening, he processed what she was telling him . She kept telling him it was a lot to process. He didn’t understand how it was. What was their to process. He loved her, she loved him it was really simple and straight forward. He just needed to know so he could plan for the futhre alone or with her.
Watching still he had to process what had come out of her mouth. Was this a yes? Had she just accepted his proposal. She had smiled at him. That was good wasn’t it? Getting up from his chair, he moved towards her and got down on one knee again. Taking her hands and looking in to her eyes he smiled. “ Is that a yes?” he asked holding her hands tightly.
“I’ll ask you this once more time Iris and this will be the last time. Will you Marry me?” he asked almost too desperately.
Iris was quiet, chewing on her lip as the silence between them stretched slightly. Her face flushed when he asked her if it was a yes. Honestly, she hadn't thought to say no to him, it was just...he was so...traditional with it that she was thrown. Nothing about their relationship was normal, so she wasn't expecting a normal-yet very wonderful original- proposal from him. She had thought he would nonchalantly ask one day while they were hanging out, nothing fancy like he had done.
She looked down at him, slightly registering the fact that his hands were colder than hers, as he knelt in front of him. "I-" she paused hesitating, it was really happening. It was still a strange concept, she hadn't thought that she would ever actually get married, never mind to Terrance-not because she didn't like him, but because she didn't think he would ask or want to- of all people.
The blond snapped out of her thoughts and smiled slightly before throwing herself at him, her arms wrapping around his neck, not worrying about them falling back onto the ground. She laughed for a moment before burying her face into his neck. "Of course I will," She said holding him tightly.

She was chewing her lip. He hated that. He could never tell if it was a good or bad thing. It was like a guessing game and he normally guessed wrong. Still on one knee in silence He waited. He wasn't going to push her to give her answer. He wanted her to be sure because this was forever after all. He didn't want to have a marriage like his parent's , no drama no hate and especially no mind games.
Looking up still, his hands still in hers ,Terrance watched. She hesitated at his question and his heart fell to the pit of his stomach. She was going to say no. He was going to need to walk away and leave this place and start his life over in a new place. Getting ready to stand up again, Terrance loosened his grip on her hands but stopped when he Iris wrapped her arms round his neck and pushed him back on the floor.
She had said yes. It was official. Pulling her closer Terrance kissed her softly.
"Thank goodness for that" he said smirking.
"My next question to you is, when do you want to get married and what type of wedding do you want??

Iris laughed and shook her head. "Yeah, who knows if you would ever find someone as amazing as me had I said no," she joked sitting in his lap.
The blond thought for a moment humming as she let her eyes float towards the ceiling. She had at one point joked about having their wedding planned out, in truth she hadn't even thought about it. While it had crossed her mind to do it for fun, she didn't want him finding random scribbled notes-if it got that far- and have him question her. "I hadn't really thought about it, honestly," She answered after a moment. "I think I want a smaller wedding. A few of our friends, maybe a fall wedding, drier weather, pretty time of year,"
She smiled up at him and giggled. "As long as you're still at the end of the aisle waiting for me, I don't really care," she admitted blushing slightly.

As she sat down on his lap, Terrance wrapped his arms around her tightly. How did he get so lucky? who would have ever thought that he would be getting married and to a Hufflepuff. Life had thrown him a lot over the year's, especially since leaving school. Iris had always been a consistent part of his life. Sure they had their moments but they always found each other again. Smiling, he held on tightly, listening to what she was saying. He wasn't really that bothered on how they go married. He was easy on the plans, Iris could have whatever she wanted. At the end of the day as long as they were married.
"ok, I'm happy with that" he said nodding his head. " I am honestly happy for you to plan and book anything you want" he said kissing her shoulder,
" Long as there is plenty of food and drink for afters then we can get married in the middle of the street if you want".
He was joking obviously on the last part, but he did mean what he was saying.
"Another question for you, what happens once we are married?" he asked resting his head on her shoulder.

Iris smiled as he held her. It was strange, him holding her so freely, and so tightly. Yes they were in a good place, but he had never been one to touch and cling. "Oh? You know giving me that much freedom we could end up in wonderland and no way back..." She said giggling. "Which doesn't sound like a bad place to get married," she added after thinking for a moment.
the blond laughed again and shook her head. "While that is definitely something I would do, I don't think London would appreciate the street being shut down. I'll think of a good place. I promise," She said some ideas running through her mind. "And of course there will be plenty of food and drinks. Do you not see where we are right now?"
Iris hummed slightly, her brows knitting in confusion at his question. "How do you mean?"
When he asked where they would live she chewed on her lower lip. That had never crossed her mind. She thought she would live in the shop basement forever. That wasn't realistic though. It was her place, not his. And while he had stayed with her, that was before things turned serious and he was a guest. "Well, seeing as apparating is a convenient way to travel it doesn't matter much. Maybe someplace with a lot of space to roam and grow things...the woods away from people?" she said thoughtfully. "Do you have any ideas?"
She thought about where they could live and she perked up after a moment. "A tree house in the woods over water so there can be a large bed swing underneath it!" she said before laughing slightly.
She didn't think he would take her seriously, though it would be a fun place to live. They could live anywhere in the world if they wanted, someplace warm year round, though seeing snow would be nice, but that's what vacations are for.

Smiling, Terrance sat and listened. He hadn't really given anything an awful lot of thought. He knew things would be different once they got married but to the extent of how different he was not sure. He had never been involved in planning anything before and he couldn't remember if he had even been to a wedding as an adult. He obviously knew what a wedding looked like, and he had read about Muggle ones = he definitely didn't want a muggle wedding, those things looked crazy.
" I would be down for that" he said nodding. "As long as it's not dragged out then that's all i have to say on the ceremony".
Smiling, he kissed Iris on top of her head and moved for a second, taking out a notebook and quill from his pocket. It probably would be best if they started to write things down.
"Right, so wonderland it is" he said scribbling it down. "Drink we are sorted for and food" he said scribbling away. "Anything else you want to write down on the list?" he asked, passing the quill over to her.
He couldn't help but laugh as the thought of them living in a treehouse, it would be pretty cool. It did make sense to officially move in together but his place as too small, and well the shop was nice and all but it wasn't really a home home. Taking hold of one of Iris's hands, Terrance awkwardly looked up.
"What about building a home?" he asked raising his eyebrows. "we could pick a place and build exactly what we went, i don't think it would take us that long" he said feeling himself get excited. "in the meantime, we can do what we are doing and look at moving in after the wedding".
"What do you think?" he asked, hoping she thought it was a good idea.
