History:
Autumn Clearly, of the "Tavern of the Dark" Clearly's, was not excited to leave. She had lived in her hometown of Killin, Scotland, her entire life. She knew in the back of her mind that her new school wasn't far... But she had never left the borders of this town, so everything seemed rather distant. Though she would have her Journal, and her pet cat Pix, the rest of the safety of this world would be left behind. Her brothers, her mom... They would all stay behind. She would like to say she would miss her father, but he is always so busy it wouldn't be any different. Oh well.
Her brothers were like her best friends. Ren, at a mere 6, was wise beyond his years. He seemed so intuitive, and naturally kind... when he wasn't being mischievous, of course. She shared that distaste for rules and standards with him, unlike her eldest brother. Basil, at 17, was so very strict. While she was so thankful that he was always there for her and Ren when they needed someone, she hated how often he thought himself as higher than them... He was her brother, not her father. She had one already, and it wasn't much to be excited about. She would dearly miss Basil though. He had taught her much of her favorite things, like how to journal when she was upset, or breathe deeply when she was afraid. Could she remember to do those things when she was alone across the valley? Her heart grew heavy. She knew who she would miss the very most. Autumn's mother was a lovely, soft woman who was always cooking and baking. The lady herself always smelled of Paprika and Cinnamon, spicy and sweet. She had a sharp tongue, and a warm hug, and always knew which to use and when. Autumn wanted so badly to be someone her mother could be proud of. Getting on the train with her head held high would be the first step, she hoped.
The second hardest sacrifice would be her headset. In her freetime, Autumn lived in another world, accessed through the Fringe* Headset anchored in her bedroom. She often logged into a world featuring Medieval champions, knights, fair ladies and the such.... The thought that magic could be in reach was intimidating. Magic could be hers alone. She would have to leave her cherished world, the characters she has built, and her partner in crime, SyPheR as well. And she couldn't even tell him. She drafted a message, full of her treasured inventory, her hard earned currency, and left the world with the sentence; "I'll find you again."
Personality and Fun facts:
Autumn is a technology addict, who is constantly trying to find new ways to make things better and more comfortable around herself. When she struggles to find her place, or is uncomfortable in the real world, she will slip into her daydreams, either through her journal, her games, or new mediums. She is aware that technology is not allowed at Hogwarts, and is going to struggle immensely with that rule. She has a very neutral outlook on life, believing that all bad must be balanced with good she can't see, or when good things happen, that something bad may be lurking right around the corner. Sometimes, her fantasies get the best of her, creating fears for her to be afraid of, goals she barely cares about to seem glorious, and people to often be better than they truly are.
Autumn enjoys playing Devil's advocate, and will sometimes start a debate even when she knows she is wrongly, simply to test the other persons traits and beliefs. She has a strong will, and often times tries to test it by pushing her ideas onto others in place of their own. While she is aware that it is her least likeable trait, she simply tells herself that the people who are worth her time will push past it, and accept her as she is... That is, she hopes they will.

RP Example:
The first day had already come, bringing with it a chill wind, grey sky, and all around morbid sense of an ending rather than a beginning. The young redhead knew she should be excited, but fought off her rising anticipation with thoughts of the past summer, of running in the sun with her brothers, and staying up into the early hours of the morning with her virtual friends... Friends she didn't know if she would ever see again. She smiled sadly. What would he think if he saw her right now? He had never seen her at all, so probably not much... She chuckled darkly. How ironic it would be for him to appear here,... Would they even recognize each other without the virtual world standing betwixt them? She shook her head viciously, trying to stop living in worlds that were not real. She was here now, and this was her life. It was time to face the facts.
Autumn scowled at the other students walking down the hall, afraid that if she wanted to reach out, and got denied, she would be alone forever. Instead, she pushed back her shoulders, held her head high, and began her personal descent into madness. 2029; and these people lived without phones, games, internet... and replaced it with wooden sticks? She had to admit, flying and whatnot seemed really cool, but could she really be capable? She tilted her head to the right, allowing her inner thoughts to shake her confidence. All these other starter students seemed so at home in their robes, never looked scared and intimidated. Could she really ever be at home here? She knew she had years to go... but today felt like it was going to last a lifetime.

Once upon a time Autumn's brother Basil had deleted a game file of hers whilst using her computer to open a site for his school. Whilst she knew she could have punished him right away, she decided to go a different route. She walked up to him and hugged him, reassuring him that it was all right, as her save was for a silly game anyway, and her goals were all achievable still. In the end, what was a file worth anyway, right? She chuckled merrily and led him out of her room, telling him she would work on some homework for the rest of the night anyway. As she began to close the door, her mind began to race, sparking new ideas as soon as the lock clicked shut. If she was going to punish him appropriately, she would have to play the long game... It was time for him to suffer as well.
