A hidden world of magic didn't seem possible, at least not until the Statue of Secrecy was broken and it was decided both worlds would be better off without it. Everyone in the world is now connected, woven within a web of lies, magic, deception, love, fear, friendship, hate, life, and anguish. Many have profited from the changes that have been made and have moved on with their lives, but for others the end is very near. In this New Age not everyone can win, those with knowledge have power, power equals corruption, and good does not always outweigh bad.
It is for those very reasons the brink of war is upon both worlds

She let out a yawn as she wandered around the library. Thankfully it was a weekend. Thankfully there wasn't a Quidditch game or practice. She needed a rest. She felt like she hadn't slept in a month with all the activities she had been doing. Plus with exams coming up she really didnt know what sleep was anymore. It was the library, commonroom or the pitch. Honestly her bed was probably missing her as much as she was missing it. She just had to keep telling herself that it was her last year, that after this she could do whatever she wanted. It didn't help that she barely slept as it was.
Of course she wasn't watching where she was going, why would She? No one really used the library on weekends. She let out a short squeak as someone rammed into her sending her falling sideways into a chair. The books she had in her arms fell to the floor. The vampire glared at the back of the offender and crossed her arms over her chest. "Stupid lowlife," she muttered. On a normal rested day she wouldn't be so harsh, but she needed sleep. She let out a sigh, but made no effort to move, not realizing how odd the arm chair she was in felt.

Draeden Blackwood was sitting in a chair in the library reading a book. This wasn't unusual for him - he was frequently found in the library. Books were better than most humans anyways. He thought, sometimes, that were there not compelling reasons to place him in Slytherin, he would have been in Ravenclaw. Suddenly, he was very rudely interrupted by a human being falling into his lap. An attractive female human being. Phoenyx Raven, he knew from playing quidditch with her. But still, he was a bit peeved.
He expected her to get up right away and when she didn't, he cleared his throat. "Excuse me," he said. "This seat's taken, if you haven't noticed." Like sure, he definitely wanted to do more with girls, but this experience of girls throwing himself at him was pretty new to him. He shifted his weight uncomfortably underneath her.

Phoenyx turned her attention to her chair and looked at him. Of course she knew the younger student. He was on the Quidditch team. As back up seeker, in case she couldn't play. He was good, from what she had seen in practice, and would probably be main seeker once she graduated. "You're excused. Thank you for acknowledging that," she stated a small grin on her lips. He was a cute little thing, even If he did have a little acne. "Well you can blame the swine that rushed by me and knocked into me so hard I just fell," she added before letting out a huff and turning to glare at the empty space the offender had occupied.
She returned her attention back to Draeden when he shifted under her. She moved so she was sitting comfortably in his lap, rather than laying awkwardly laying across it-she was still shorter than him. " I'm sorry. I've invaded your space haven't I?" She asked, her hands absentmindedly playing with his cloak. She didn't realize how this could be interpreted from someone looking in from the outside. It was just an innocent conversation and didn't people allow friends to sit in their lap even if they weren't dating? Maybe that was just within the covenant, but she didn't know.

Draeden rolled his eyes. Who did this girl think she was? She was totally invading his personal space. And what's more, she was making completely lame jokes. Of course, he had heard the rumors that she was half vampire, but he wasn't afraid of her. She seemed so ordinary. Not vampire-y like. Though he had never really looked at her teeth. But still, she was a petite thing, and Draeden hardly found her intimidating.
"He may have knocked you," Draeden said. "But I don't see him over here trying to make a home on my lap." Surly Draeden was certainly in full force. But he was trying to focus on what he was reading and this was certainly less focus. He didn't understand why she was playing with his cloak. Was she trying to flirt with him? Draeden mostly gave everyone a wide berth at this part of his life.

Phoenyx looked up at him, pausing in her work of fixing the stupid fold in his cloak. "Well I can call him over if he's your preferred preference, " she said a twinge of a smirk trying to take over her lips. She set back to work fixing his cloak, getting the fold out, causing her to run her hands up around his neck and fix his cloak and collar, which caused her to reposition herself so she was straddling him. She didn't realize her tongue was peaking out between her lips as she focused on her task. When she finished she smiled in triumph, showing her fangs.
"I'm not making a home on your lap," she said blushing slightly. She looked away and crossed her arms. "And I don't see you trying very hard to remove me. Afraid I'll bite?" She asked arching a brow. She was still straddling him as she looked up at him. "You know Blackwood, I don't think I've told you how good of a Quidditch player you are," she said thoughtfully looking up at the ceiling. She couldn't recall if she had ever complimented the younger Slytherin on his Quidditch skills. She usually did practice, changed and then go off to study.

Draeden snorted. "As if," he said. He may be more into school than dating at this point, but he was certain that he did not want to be dating men. There was something about girls and Draeden was not willing to admit how much he wanted them. Not yet, he knew there would be a time for that, but right now, he had to get good grades. Sawyer-Woodward didn't accept many apprentice wandmakers and he knew he would have to really prove himself in this area.
Draeden took her hands and removed them from his clothes and then dropped them. "I can straighten my own clothes, thank you very much," he told her. Though he did note her fangs. He guessed the rumors were true. He still wasn't afraid of her either way. "I was taught not to hurt a lady," he said. And he tried not to push or hit them, no matter how much he wanted to. "Of course I'm good," he added. "Better than you."

"Well then I guess I'm staying," she said smiling slightly. She was being bold. She didn't know why, but she was getting a kick out of this. He was cute too, and with Dustin being gone and things between them had shifted, she figured something to take her mind off everything would be something like this. It wasn't like she was going to ever wind up sleeping with him.
Phoenyx frowned and then pouted. "It was bothering me. Knowing I had done nothing would irritate me," she replied making sure his buttons were all straightened out, they were so she couldn't casually unbutton his top. Oh well, that would have been funny. His reaction. She leaned in close. "Even one that asked for some rough play?" She questioned tilting her head slightly. She pulled away and mocked hurt. "Oh that-that wounds me Draeden. It would hurt more if the captain agreed with you and made you main seeker. But well unfortunately she doesn't, " she replied. Okay so she totally would have let him play a game or two, her knee was bothering her and she needed to take a breakbe cause of it. But his cocky attitude made her rethink even letting him know that.

Draeden was getting irritated. He stood up abruptly, forcing her off his lap. "You don't get to decide for me," he said, crossing his arms and then settling back in his chair. He didn't care that she was a girl, he was in his space. And she was defying him. Who defied him? People didn't do that. Mostly, he stayed out of people's way because he didn't care for most people.
"Well," he said. "It wasn't bothering me, but you are." He narrowed his eyes at her, even as she lay on the floor. "The captain only gave it to you because you're older, not because you're better." It had definitely not been because she was better. No one was better than him, he was certain of it. He was confident in his abilities. He would someday be the one leading Slytherin to victory.

Phoenyx let out a oof, and then an ouch as she landed on the ground. She glared up at him and crossed her arms. "You know if I really wanted I could overpower you and kill you. I'm sure your blood tastes just delicious. Though probably bitter," she said not moving from her spot. How dare he. He was below her in every sense. Younger than her, sure purebred, but not a vampire. So still below her.
She rolled her eyes and glared up at him. She didn't bother sitting up. "No. The captain doesn't go based off age. They go off of skill," she said. Of course she left out the bit where her hearing was better than his, so she could hear the snitch. Not that she wasn't good at flying or playing. The captain saw her talent as a seeker and was probably a little threatened by her fangs.

Draeden kept his arms crossed as he glared at her. "I," he said, slowly. "Don't believe you. Unless you're really looking to get kicked out of Hogwarts, in which case, be my guest." He doubted they would let a savage vampire stay at Hogwarts. If she attacked him, they would throw her out faster than you could say vampire vixen. Not that she was one, of course. It was just a nice alliteration.
"Or maybe," Draeden said. "You just gave the captain that nice little speech you gave me about overpowering and killing and they were dumb enough to believe it. Did you threaten your way onto the team?" Draeden wouldn't be surprised. It wouldn't be the first time, especially on an ambitious team like that of Slytherin. He didn't need to threaten people, but maybe she did.

At his words she was up in an instant. Her legs on either side of his and her hands holding his down against the arm rests. "They would have to find your body first," she whispered in his ear. She nipped at it before looking directly at him. "Killing you I feel, would be a shame. You are quite adorable. Especially when you glare," she said her lips grazing over his. She decided to have a little more fun, he wasn't going anywhere, and he hadn't shouted out for help-not that she thought he would being arrogant as he was- so she decided to keep him from saying anything. Her lips met his and she playfully bit at his lower lip. If he didn't respond fine, it was just as fun. "You know Blackwood if you really are that awful of a kisser you'll only ever be sub par in life," she said against his lips."and being unable to keep up will be very off putting to any girl," she said before kissing him again. She was having far to much fun.
She arched a brow at him. "Actually he's known me for years. Threatening him would be unnecessary. A waste really," she said moving back in close to him, a smirk on her lips. "All I had to do was tell him my little trick, have him confirm with Dustan and I keep my spot. Of course having exceptional flying skills also helped," she whispered licking her lips. Okay so he tasted good, but she couldn't get to carried away. Not just yet.

Draeden had to admit that the things she was doing - well, he was attracted. But he did not like feeling like she had all the power. Draeden liked to be in control. He did not like someone, especially not a girl, thinking that she had so much going for her that he would just take this. He pushed her off again, though it was harder to do so this time, as there was a part of him that didn't want to. Because that kiss - well, it had been something he hadn't known he wanted. But still, she didn't get to decide these things for him.
"I get by just fine," he said, standing up to stand over her. "You think you're all that, but here's a newsflash for you. Not everyone is afraid of you. Not everyone thinks you are the hottest thing on earth. Not everyone wants you." Though he did, but he would never admit it. He began to gather up his bag and other things from the side of the chair. He was out of here. But where could he go that she couldn't follow him? Maybe a boys' bathroom.

Phoenyx found her little game fun, but he was pushing her off again. He didn't seem to be as forceful, which she assumed was because he really didn't want to stop, but he had to save face. She smiled as he stood up.
He was taller than her and she had to say, she was very interested now. She licked her lips and smiled slightly. "Oh, I don't want everyone to be afraid of me. Especially not you,"she said smiling . Her eyes darkened at some thoughts she was having. "As for having everyone want me, I really don't care," she started grabbing onto his tie, keeping him from running off. "But you...I could be very happy if it was just you who thought that...in time," she said tugging him lightly so that he could lean down towards her, if he wanted. She stepped closer to him and looked up at him. "I would prefer it if you didn't have me controlling every move though. I mean I'm sure you'd have more fun if you took the reigns, " she said her eyes sparkling.

Draeden rolled his eyes. As if he would ever be afraid of her. Draeden Blackwood wasn't afraid. Not of her. Not of anything. She tugged on his tie and he had an idea. He felt it was probably a wicked terrible idea. But, if he wanted to be the one who had power, in every situation, well, he supposed that he was going to have to have power in this arena too.
He leaned forward and he kissed her. He lingered. He had no idea, what the hell he was doing. But when he broke away, he grinned and said, "Don't say I never did anything nice for you." He flashed his cocky smirk. Then he quickly untied his tie and left her standing there, holding it, as he walked away with his things.

Phoenyx smiled and waited to see what he did. He leaned towards her and kissed her. It wasn't what she had thought. She was pleased he chose to kiss her. It was fantastic. She smiled as he spoke. "Don't worry. I won't, " she responded grinning and watching him walk away. He would be someone to watch for our in the world. He could be fun. She tucked his tie into her pocket, knowing it was going to stay with her. She turned on her heel and walked in the opposite direction, her lips still curved in a grin.
