Welcome Magical Studies Students!
I am really excited about this year! We are going to be exploring the theme of Magical Origins this year through the topics of {1} Magical/Muggle Families, {2} Magical Myth and Reality in Europe, and {3} Muggle Magical Practises Through History. Below you can find the schedule for this year's Magical Studies curriculum. You will also see two special sessions scheduled, the details of which we will cover on the first day of lessons. These sessions are Field Study Sessions during which classes will be taken outside of the classroom and into the Magical World. Permission will be required for students to participate in these special sessions and forms will be handed out on the first day of lessons.
Additional Note: Each Spring Special will feature overnight travel to a specific destination in Europe. The appropriate travel papers and documents will be necessary for students to participate in this trip. Details will be discussed further at a mandatory meeting scheduled for 21 March 2029 at 19:30. Letters have already been sent to the families of class participants detailing the trip.
* Year I features all years learning simultaneously, which will change in Year II and Year III syllabi
Lessons will be from 09:30-10:30 in the Magical Studies classroom on the first floor. Copies of the assigned reading will be provided for you at the beginning of the Winter Lesson.
Once again, I'm very excited to meet you all and to begin this great course of study together!
Sincerely,
Professor Caroline L. Griffiths-Hewitt
