History:
The Thornton and Gutierrez families are two of the purest lines in North and Central America. Though both families came from money, Mark and Dolores Thornton tried to raise their two children to be unassuming and considerate of others. For the most part, they succeeded. The family lives in a high-upper-middle class Muggle neighborhood on the Pacific coastline just outside of Los Angeles. Both children grew up around Muggles and even attended Muggle schools before attending Hogwarts. Though the family could afford servants and even had access to house-elves, Dolores took leave of her teaching career to run the house and both children were expected to chip in with household chores. Mark is currently working in the American equivalent of the MoM as Head of the International Transportation Department, Los Angeles Office.

Allegra had a normal upbringing, somewhat sheltered life. The biggest worry she usually had was passing her next test or winning the next Quidditch game. She was the calm, obedient child who never gave her parents cause to worry. They could focus their concern on Allegra’s younger brother, but were always good about never neglecting their older child, going to all of her dance and piano recitals and making sure there was always room on the refrigerator for her latest A+ paper. While her younger brother was usually a major source of frustration for her, she still loved him dearly and would fight tooth and nail for him.

She received her Hogwarts letter at the age of 11 and was sorted into Ravenclaw where she found great success. She excelled in all of her classes, served as Quidditch captain, prefect and Head girl. She got top scores on her OWLs and NEWTs. Her school years were rather uneventful, with the exception of trying to keep her younger brother from getting into too much trouble. She had a few break out moments (including smashing all the mirrors in the Ravenclaw bathroom and dueling in the hallways with rubber chickens) where she tried to shed her label as “the nice girl” and she actually received a couple of detentions. Despite her reputation to the contrary, she never was a tattle, snitch, or a stoolie.

In the hopes of eventually getting a teaching position, she took an intern position with the Education Department in the Ministry of Magic at the age of 17 for the summer. After returning for her final year of schooling and graduating from Hogwarts, she asked and received a position working in the school offices. She spent a couple of years filing and shuffling paperwork for the school administration, but was finally asked to assist in a few classes. While she realizes she is still young and obviously not experienced enough to be a full professor, she feels she is ready to take on the responsibility of running her own classes.

Personality Description:
Allegra is outgoing and friendly and likes meeting new people. She will go out of her way to try and make others welcome and most often has a smile on her face. She's usually in a good mood and isn't a stranger to humming randomly or even skipping despite being a bit too old to do so. Some find this annoying and while their attitude bothers her sometimes, most often it doesn't. She tends to be easy-going and laid back, but sometimes gives the impression of being otherwise.

Allegra is neat and organized, enjoys reading, drawing, crafts and Quidditch. She often spends her free time outside if the weather is nice (and sometimes even when it’s not) and can usually be found lying in the grass with a good book or a sketch pad and a box of crayons.

She is a hard and conscientious worker and will often be found poring over books and paperwork if there's a deadline coming up (and within the next two months is "coming up" to Allegra). She believes in the importance of good manners (usually) and tries to be respectful of others. She likes following rules, but will stand up against ones she thinks are unfair. She is loyal and trustworthy and will be a faithful friend.

Physical Description:
At five foot, nine inches, Allegra is tall and slim with straight brown hair and green eyes. She likes to wear her hair short, usually tucked back behind one ear with a clip or if she’s doing something more active, in a loose ponytail or two braids. She has a light spattering of freckles across her nose that seems more prominent when she's been out in the sun, which is quite often. Her Mexican heritage allows her to tan easily and she usually can keep the tone well into winter. Foul moods are unusual for Allegra and she is most often wearing usually a smile on her face that extends to her eyes.

Allegra prefers to wear comfortable clothes, but dresses appropriately for whatever occasion, usually in blue tones as that is her favorite color. Even in casual clothes, she is neat and coordinated and while she takes pride in her appearance, she's not afraid of a good mud fight.

Special Talents/Knacks:
Allegra is especially skilled at wandwork like her mother, always doing well with Charms and Trasnfigurations. She is a hard worker, a loyal friend and generally polite to authority figures. She is an excellent flier and a strong Quidditch player. She is neat and organized, but not afraid of getting dirty.

She's a pretty decent cook, can play the piano (though she hasn't really done so in years), and enjoys dancing.

RP Example:
She hadn't been a big fan of going to the feasts since she had graduated, but even now Allegra prided herself on never missing a single Ravenclaw Quidditch game. As a first year, she had sat in the bleachers, blue ribbons in her hair and yelling her head off for the Eagles. She had played on the team for the remainder of her school years, but now that she had graduated, she was back in the bleachers, ribbons and all, still yelling her head off for her house team.

"GO TEAM BLUE! LET'S GET IT TO THE GOAL!" she shouted over the pitch, ignoring some of the looks she got from the students. Apparently they were not used to their teachers being so loud. As the Eagles zoomed past, she was on her feet, leaning over the railing far enough that some thought she might go over. "GO RAVENCLAW! WOOOO!" So much for being professional...
