Anais Oceane Beaumont was born within the first year of the Beaumonts’ move to Southampton, England. She is much more disconnected to her family’s life back in France since she was never there. Growing up in England even with French parents is the only one of her siblings to have an English accent being around it so much. For her whole life the girl was babied by her older siblings and was the favorite of her mother. Even though she is half-Veela she is almost oblivious to that side of her. She focuses more on the witch side of her and that alone makes her more likable than her sister. Ana is the most musically inclined of the Beaumont family and also the most into literature and animals.
When her sister first told her about her engagement, Stasie bought Anais a little yellow pygmy puff. Anais had a lot of trouble coping with the news, but she took to her new pet right away. She named him Quincy and absolutely adored him. However she was still very upset that Stasie would just let her parents do something like choosing her husband. It especially troubled her who her sister would marry. She very much takes Xandre’s side in the whole situation though she hasn’t rebelled quite as much as he did. Since she found out that her parents arranged Stasie’s wedding, Anais has been terrified that the same thing will happen to her. She and her sister used to be very close, but after her engagement Ana withdrew from her sister because of her dislike for Julien’s family. Since then she has been becoming closer with her brother, replacing the friendship that she and her sister once shared.
For practically her whole life it was apparent that Anais would be a blood traitor. She doesn’t really care what status someone is. She judges people by how they act. Since she herself has a fairly innocent nature she tries to avoid people that she knows she won’t get along with because they are not the most pleasant of people. Even she can have her days though too. Growing up in a higher class family it is sometimes hard for Anais to have to be told no about some things. She realizes that not everything she wants is going to happen, but she will try her best to make it happen.
Personality Description: {at least 2 good sized paragraphs}
The youngest Beaumont has traits of both her older siblings. She isn’t obsessed with her looks like Stasie though. She is generally a sweet girl. She is very difficult to describe in that she isn’t really shy, but there are moments when she is more reserved like her brother. But there are also times like with her sister that she will talk and not shut up. Most of the time this depends on her mood and how well she knows you. She used to be more shy, but she’s working at growing out of it.
Anais does use sarcasm sparingly but often enjoys a good laugh. She does not often consider herself an amusing or interesting person. Surprisingly she is very modest, except for the times when she jokes about it. Most of the time she will speak her mind and doesn’t like to be challenged. If she holds a grudge against you you can almost always expect that it won’t last long. Anais loves being around people, but she can also be content just to be alone with a good book.
Physical Description:
Height: 5’ 1”
Weight/Build: Slender
Skin Tone: Cream ivory
Hair Color and Style: Curly honey blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Personal Scent: Lavender and honey
Anais has always been almost like a mini me of Stasie. She has mid-length honey blonde curls which most of the time is styled down and curled, straightened, or in a braid. Ana isn’t very fond of hand me downs from Stasie, mostly because she wants to be her own person as much as possible. Most of the time she wears a comfy shirt and either jeans or a skirt. She not terribly girly, but also not a tomboy. Because she doesn’t really find the time to, Ana normally does not wear makeup, but she loves to paint her nails and she’s very good at making them look professional.
Likes:
- Brushing her hair
- Curling up in a warm place on rainy days
- Spoiling Quincy
Dislikes:
- People thinking she’s a snob
- Being called “dollface” or “angelface”
- Her sister’s new “family”
Special Talents: Anais has a way with animals. Rarely does she come across one that won’t take to her, even the most vicious of house pets. There are even some wild magical creatures that she can get along with. She has fairly extensive musical gifts and enjoys almost everything under the category of “fine arts” and can play several different instruments along with her singing. She can usually understand people without having known them for very long just because she reads people well. She also occasionally will have premonitions, but she thinks it’s mostly deja vu and nothing to get excited about.
RP Example: {MUST be written in 3rd person past tense. At least 2 good sized paragraphs}”Anais?” Ana looked up from the book she was reading. The courtyard had been a nice warm spot today and sitting on a bench with a good book had sounded like a nice peaceful idea to the girl. Stasie was walking towards her, a guarded look on her face. Ana was confused by the expression. Stasie was always very open towards her and this was not a face she was used to seeing. Her older sister attempted something like a smile as she sat down next to her. Without a word she extended her hand towards the younger Beaumont and opened her fingers. There in her hand was a little yellow pygmy puff. Anais’ eyes grew wide as she saw the adorable little creature and she barely contained a squeal of delight. Anastasie gently transferred the tiny animal to Ana’s hands and she cradled it gently. “He’s for you. I kind of figured you would be all over it since you know he’s fluffy and adorable.”
Ana’s smile grew, “I’ll name him Quincy. He looks really smart, and that just seems like a smart name.” Anais ignored the eyeroll her sister gave her, too enthralled with her new pet.
“So I need to talk to you about something.” Anais stopped and frowned. Whenever Stasie said something like that it couldn’t be good. She turned to look at the older girl with a questioning gaze. “I got a letter from Mum and Dad not too long ago.” Stasie paused as if it was hard for her to get the words out. “They’ve arranged for me to be married to Julien Travert shortly after I graduate.”
Anais ceased movement, every feature in her face hardening into a mask of hurt and rage. Why hadn’t Stasie told her earlier? Why had her parents done this at all? Didn’t they know who the Traverts were related to? Of course they did. That was exactly why they had done it. Her voice shook, barely containing her fury “And you’re just going to let them do this? You’re going to let them wreck your life?!”
The girl watched with a sick feeling twisting her gut as her sister merely shrugged. “It’s out of my hands. I can’t go against what they want.” Were these words actually coming from Anastasie? Anais had expected her sister to be less accepting of this and to actually stand up against their parents and say that she wouldn’t do it. Had they arranged something like this for Xandre too, or even worse herself? She knew Xandre would never allow it, but she’d also never imagined her sister giving up so easily either. Anais was beyond words. With a furious glance at the Ravenclaw she scooped up Quincy and stormed away.
