A hidden world of magic didn't seem possible, at least not until the Statue of Secrecy was broken and it was decided both worlds would be better off without it. Everyone in the world is now connected, woven within a web of lies, magic, deception, love, fear, friendship, hate, life, and anguish. Many have profited from the changes that have been made and have moved on with their lives, but for others the end is very near. In this New Age not everyone can win, those with knowledge have power, power equals corruption, and good does not always outweigh bad.
It is for those very reasons the brink of war is upon both worlds

Trial to Begin Soon October 2024 Lisabeth Maynard
A 24-year-old muggleborn witch from Hogsmeade has been arrested in connection with the death of a 13-year-old pureblood witch at camp this summer.
Lillian Marshal was arrested at Camp Bluelake over the summer after Ministry officials found reason to believe she murdered Jessica Cooper. Marshal was the one to find the girl, Jessica Cooper, who drowned in the lake. Marshal was serving as a camp counselor this summer, though holds the position as a Welcome Witch at St. Mungo’s. There were no other witnesses to the event.
Ministry officials also initially investigated and arrested Dylan Marshal, the husband of Lillian Marshal and the professor of History of Magic at Hogwarts, but released him after they found no evidence of his connection to Cooper's death.
Lillian Marshal is currently being held at the Ministry awaiting trial. Ministry officials declined to comment on the case and neither of the Marshal's could be reached for a comment. The Daily Prophet will do their best to bring you the news from the trial as it happens.

The Horrors of Halloween Night Early November 2025 Bridget Snyder
Tristan Howard and Glenn Howard
What started out to be a night of fun and naughty intrigue, turned into a night of death and loss. Halloween, traditionally a night to celebrate for our particular realm, turned on end this past Halloween. Hogsmeade, while hosting the Minister of Magic's Halloween Party, also proved to be a night of lasts for one particular Auror.
Tristan Howard, 24 and a Ministry Auror, has been found dead in Hogsmeade. It appears, upon first reports, that his death was caused by one of the Unforgivable Curses, the Killing Curse. Being reported is that Glenn Howard, a former Auror and current Professor of Hogwarts, also related to the younger Auror, killed his nephew. The reasoning is unclear, but there is evidence of a Wizard's duel having taken place, with Tristan being on the wrong receiving end. However, authorities tell us that Glenn Howard is in no better shape, and is currently at St. Mungo's undergoing a series of treatments.
The evening of 31 October, 2025, the Howard's met just outside of town in Hogsmeade, whereupon a duel seems to have taken place. However, we have no word on what could have lead to this horrible tragedy, only that the Minister immediately put Aurors and other personnel on top of the case to keep it under wraps for that evening while he allowed residents and party-goers in the area one more night of relaxation before being hit with the terrible news.
The Daily Prophet will be keeping you posted as evidence surfaces and authorities are able to give us more information. At this time, we can only express our sorrows for those who knew the victim(s).

Speculations of Spook-tacular Findings Early November 2025 Bridget Snyder
Tristan Howard
What started out as a normal and supposed-to-be fun-filled evening turned into a nightmare for one family.
Halloween night, it appears Professor Glenn Howard met with his nephew, Auror Tristan Howard, outside of Hogsmeade. While there is still speculation as to why the two were meeting, we've been told it may have been to attend the Minister's Halloween party, although those findings are not yet conclusive. However, the Howard's meeting did not go well, as it appears a duel ensued between the two adults.
While the investigation is still undergoing, we've been told that Glenn Howard did indeed perform the Killing Curse on his nephew, who it appears attempted to defend himself by countering the curse with the Cruciatus Curse. It is not yet evident what brought on this duel, or who "threw the first punch", but Aurors from the British Ministry are greatly saddened by the deaths of both Auror Tristan Howard and former Auror Glenn Howard.
The family was not able to be reached for a comment at this time, but a representative speaking on behalf of the Howard's has told us the family would like to grieve in peace at this time.
Investigations continue to go underway, while Glenn Howard still receives treatment at St. Mungo's, although our sources tell us it seems unlikely Professor Howard will ever be the same again.

The Results November 2025 Jenna Barry
Before and After Trial
Precisely two months ago, those of us in the Wizarding World learned the news: Lillian Marshal walked free of all charges. What makes this story so big? Lillian (Lily) Marshal was accused of murdering a young witch at a summer camp lake. It was a serious crime Miss Marshal was accused of, and for over a year the prosecutors were building a case, one that would ultimately fail in the face of the court system.
It all started at Cadlys Glasllyn during the summer months of 2024, Witches and Wizards of student-age from all over the United Kingdom joined together at Camp Bluelake for a couple months of fun-filled days and nights, only to find a nightmare on the doorstep. During breakfast one morning, camper Jessica Cooper strolled outside, to the Lake, where it is claimed Lily Marshal followed after her and found her splashing around, needing help. However, by account from Marshal, young Jessica Cooper was not able to survive from the depths of the lake before Marshal was able to reach her and pull her body from the water. It appeared a simple matter of case-closed accidental-drowning, although the camp did not close down, instead choosing to patrol more-often with heightened security.
During the days following, Marshal was arrested by Ministry Officials, as cries rang out that Cooper's death was not as accidental as it appeared, but instead made to look accidental. New claims were that Marshal, a Muggle-born witch, had a score to settle with the Wizarding Community, and chose to start payback with pure-blood Cooper. Cooper's parents, although grieving, chose to press charges, going through with a trial that took over a year to put together.
The Minister of Magic, Vincent van Gheule, chose to keep Marshal in cell at the Ministry of Magic, rather than sending her to Azkaban, feeling that if she were closer on hand for questioning it would be easier on everyone. It was an arrangement not many have seen before, but our sources tell us Gheule was hoping to make Marshal feel as safe as possible, feeling in the deepest of his heart that it was merely an accident, but not denying the Cooper's a fair trial in the process of their grieving.
During the weeks of the trial, it appeared that Marshal arrived completely distraught, as witnesses came forward and told their stories, admitting to the truths of how they perceived what happened and in face of Marshal's past. However, Marshal was set free of all charges, and she is now resuming life of being reintegrated back into society, reunited with her husband, Professor Dylan Marshal.
