A student attacked at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in January remains today in the Hospital Wing. Authorities search for accused attacker.

The event was hushed up by force of several School Governors, however, they have now admitted that they, as well as Hogwarts Professors, are at a loss to explain what happened. After an investigation by the Ministry it has come out that two boys had quarreled and a Slytherin First Year attacked a Ravenclaw Second Year with an unknown spell and shortly after disappeared. The young boy, whose name has not been released, was taken into the Hogwarts Hospital Wing for injuries sustained during the small brawl, as well as the spell that was performed. He remains unconscious, though we've been assured his vitals are normal and every Professor is doing their best to ensure he pulls through. Currently experts are being called in to work on the Ravenclaw's condition.

Elia Vazilsashvili (pictured above), a twelve year old boy from Georgia who was hosted by the McAlarney's of London has disappeared after attacking the Ravenclaw boy. Authorities have told the Daily Prophet they wished they had known earlier about the boy's disappearance so they could have spent time searching for him, however, now he is a wanted criminal.

Both Muggle and Wizarding authorities will continue searching for Vazilsashvili, but if you see him, please notify the Ministry immediately. He is a dangerous criminal and should not be approached.

Word around the halls at Hogwarts is no longer who is dating whom, but instead who believes and who doesn't. A normal day of scheduled classes started off like every other day, until students gathered in the Entrance Hall at Hogwarts, stopped in their tracks by the message burning on the wall. This was no friendly hello, instead it was asking students to come out and make a choice in their beliefs. This was questioning who they are as individuals.

Many believed these age-old beliefs had been put to rest, shortly after the defeat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. However, tradition holds true, and history repeats itself, as is shown by the message that was burned into the eyes of many students who woke to find the horrible message.

Professors tried to secure the area, keeping students back from tampering with the message, though it was with regret that it had to remain on the walls. It was also with regrets that Headmaster Quintus Ophelic believed it was best to keep the message up until further investigations could be made into the reason behind the message. According to our sources, the message remained displayed for nearly three weeks, prominently displayed, while authorities interrogated a large number of students who would have the access to the magic required to write the message.

Also according to our sources, this was not the only disrupt in studies recently. May other incidents have been covered up quietly by staff at Hogwarts, keeping everything hush-hush in order to maintain a balance within the castle.

What is the reason for the secrecy? Why are students being questioned without evidence? And how could the Staff at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry allow such a horrendous message to remain clearly displayed for all of the school to see? What is Hogwarts coming to?

A Threat Lingers

The dangers of sending your child away, whether to a camp or for schooling, never disappear. Over the years, Hogwarts has proven to be a dangerous blessing. For some, you live in a bubble of freedom where nothing can touch, for others it is a bubble of demise and everything makes contact. It has been this way for centuries, since the founders created Hogwarts, but for the majority of time peace reigned happily over the grounds. Until recently, that is.

In the last few years, there have been many mishaps, those of you fortunate enough to engage in reading all of the Daily Prophet issues will remember the Georgian boy who put another student, his host brother, into a coma. We will fail to forget how many times Harry Potter was plagued as a boy with stories being written about him. And let's not forget about the drowning of young Jessica Cooper, who was away at a camp where many Hogwarts Professors were volunteering for the summer, and whom were responsible for young Cooper.

Yesterday it was confirmed that a student had gone missing. Today, it has been confirmed she was murdered, or attacked, if you will.

Ashlyn Thomas, another Hufflepuff student, a fourth year, was found early this morning in the Forbidden Forest. Investigations are underway while Professors and proper Authorities come to an understanding of why Thomas had been in the Forest to begin with. Reports of her missing rang loud and clear early yesterday morning when her fellow badgers realized she wasn't in bed, nor had her bedspread been mussed, so they assumed she'd never returned from the Halloween Monster Mash that was held Halloween evening. Other reports are spilling in that Thomas hadn't even been in attendance to the dance.

The crime scene is grisly, and we wish not to terrify you with the details, but it appears Thomas was attacked by a wild animal, some claim a werewolf. There have always been unconfirmed rumors of werewolves freely roaming in the Forbidden Forest, one reason why students are warned to keep out, but it appears Thomas did not heed these warnings, her death a label and reminder that the Forest is dangerous to all, even the innocents.

A Break In The Case

The 2027 Yule Ball started off like any other gathering of the magical community, with the intermingling of the new muggle students and their families. For many it was a night holding hope and promise. The result however was far different for some than was the anticipation.

Some may remember the tragic disappearance and death of Hogwarts student Ashlyn Thomas, the Hufflepuff who was brutally murdered in a werewolf attack in November of 2025. Until recently Miss Thomas's death was considered a cold case. After startling new information has come to light the Ministry has now reopened the case and Ashlyn's family may finally have the justice they deserve for the death of their child.

Upon the recovery of her body it was immediately apparent that the death of Miss Thomas had been a traumatic one. Witness accounts stated that there was a werewolf sighting, along with the sounds of howls that full moon near Hogwarts castle. Until now the identity of this werewolf was unknown. Now two years later the Ministry received an anonymous statement, stating the name of the werewolf who may be responsible for this vicious attack.

What could be most distressing is that the accused werewolf had in fact been living within Hogwarts the whole time, and is in fact a student. The werewolf's name is Heidi Palomo, a fifth year Gryffindor student who sources say was turned at the age of seven. It has been made known that while the staff was aware of the girl's werewolf status it was not made common knowledge to students or their families.

The Ministry's Werewolf Capture Unit made the arrest of Palomo at the 2027 Yule Ball. Werewolf Palomo remains in custody of the Ministry until her trial can begin. A motive has yet to be confirmed, and at this time there has been no statement made by Palomo and her family has been unavailable for questioning. Parents can sleep more soundly tonight, knowing that this alleged killer is behind bars. As always if anyone has information, please contact the Ministry of Magic, British seats.
