A hidden world of magic didn't seem possible, at least not until the Statue of Secrecy was broken and it was decided both worlds would be better off without it. Everyone in the world is now connected, woven within a web of lies, magic, deception, love, fear, friendship, hate, life, and anguish. Many have profited from the changes that have been made and have moved on with their lives, but for others the end is very near. In this New Age not everyone can win, those with knowledge have power, power equals corruption, and good does not always outweigh bad.
It is for those very reasons the brink of war is upon both worlds

Proposed Bill: Marriage Laws, Pending Election Late April 2024 Julie Schopfer
The Ministry is reorganizing in the face of the prominent dangers we are now facing. Minister Peak has introduced many new bills, leaving the ultimate decision to be made by the incoming Minister once chosen. However, a long list of new bills awaits the mere yea or nay decision of the incoming Minister, many of these bills thought to be rather restraining to the Wizarding World. While it is a worldly pact that Wizards and Muggles are to attempt to live in peace, it is also widely known that many cultures have not accepted Wizards into their daily routines.
However, the new bills vary with strictness and openness that we have not explored before.
The most concerning of these bills to the Wizard World though, is that of the Pureblood Marriage Law. This bill in particular will affect any and all marriages of purebloods to anyone with less than a pureblood heritage from June 2022 on. With or without child in the family, the Law will affect all who have married anyone not considered by the Ministry to be a Pureblooded Witch or Wizard.
So far from polls, it seems our candidates are split down the middle on agreeing or disagreeing with the proposed bill. If the bill is passed, to count, it will split over 70 families. But if sympathy is on the side of many, the bill will be disregarded and forgotten.

Can the Ministry Legally Annul Marriages? Early January 2025 Julie Schopfer
Having closely followed the laws Minister van Gheule had supported during his campaign, it seems the Minister will be following through with many of the changes, though the Ministry and many Wizarding Folk deeply oppose most of the law changes. While many are subtle, only restricting Wizards in their use of Magic around Muggles (though not covering or hiding it completely), there is one law that is most unsettling.
The Marriage Law, as it has come to be known, is threatening to split well over one hundred marriages. This is the law that has received the most violence and opposition, even causing several couples to go into hiding or move to a completely different country. However, it seems that it is not only the United Kingdom threatening this, as many countries are beginning to see the decline of pureblooded magic. While Half-bloods are still the most common of our kind, it is well known that Muggleborn Witches and Wizards are few and far between. Or they are not received well in any world. However, the Marriage Law would split families and only allow Purebloods to marry one another, but with a new definition on what a "Pureblood" is.
While most old bloods would consider themselves pure, it is true that in our world there are few, if any, true purebloods lines still flourishing. However, with the redefinition of the word, anyone who could prove magic lines going as far back as at least a century, and perhaps only a half century, on both parental sides, will be considered to be a Pureblood, saving them from the fate of being forced from their families.
The Minister is not yet proposing forced marriages, but only splitting of Purebloods from their otherwise less-pure partners. However, the bill is still being drawn and is changing as we speak, so we can only hope for the best of news for everyone.

Marriage Laws are Back to Haunt Us Late October 2025 Julie Schopfer
It's been well over a year since this discussion took place within the Ministry, but it has just been reported that we'll be seeing more coming from the top on this particular subject. Our Minister of Magic has once more tipped the iceberg by speaking of the possibilities that our race is dwindling down to lesser and lesser pureness, that we're dying out, so to say. The fear that our race, that Witches and Wizards, could be becoming more like our Muggle counter-parts is a fear that is embedded within multiple families.
The Wizarding history is a rich one, one that has intertwined with Muggle history more than they know. But to be told of the very real possibility that our history is endangered sparks great interest in those who have the power to change that course of fate that could await us if something isn't done.
What are we talking about? Minister van Gheule has again broached the subject of what had been proposed ages ago. What if we were to instill arranged marriages between Witches and Wizards, as well as annul marriages between more-recently married Witches and Wizards and match them with others more pure?
Yes, people, that is what is being discussed at this very moment! Our Ministry wants to arrange marriages between those of more pure families, and perhaps even half-bloods to help secure our race for the future. All of this is just in talks, but it is possible to be a real decision made very soon. We say, watch out to all of those who are currently happily married, because it may not last long.
