Accepted! Welcome to Hogwarts: The New Ages
Full Character Name: Sarah Ann Taylor
D.o.B./Age: December 25, 2011 / 17
Place of Residency: London, England
Blood Status: Half-blood on her mother’s side
History: When Janine Thornton and Michael Taylor met at UCLA Medical Center, people said it was magic. They were both starting up their residencies and something just clicked between them. Mike would later joke that Janine slipped him a love potion… a claim she still hasn’t denied.
It was the traditional love story: Boy meets girl, boy asks girl to marry him, boy finds out girl is a witch, boy flips out a little, boy gets over it and realizes it really didn’t matter. It turned out that while Mike had been stressing through medical school, his bride to be was already a skilled healer hoping to get some new experiences by trying her hand at Muggle medicine.
Mike and Janine were thrilled to have not one, but two children, and while Mike often teased that he wanted the kids to be Muggle, he was as proud as any wizard when both started showing magical abilities. With the older of the two, Jeremy, they were never quite sure if he was actually the one responsible for the odd happenings, but with Sarah, it was very clear early on. The little girl was definitely a witch. As early as two years old, if her meals were late or her favorite toys were out of reach, she managed to take matters into her own hands, summoning cookies and stuffed animals as needed.
She grew up in a fairly normal, upper middle class family, well loved and often doted on for being the baby in the family. At the age of four, her family decided to make the move to London in the hopes of sending Sarah’s older brother to Hogwarts. The boy had been having difficulties in school and the family hoped the new start would be good. While Sarah missed seeing her grandmother and grandfather as often, she was glad to find that England had flying ponies as well and she was excited to be able to spend more time with her big cousins who were already there.
At the age of five, she started Muggle school and has always gotten along well with her teachers and classmates. After school, she does many of the things other little girls of her age and social standing do: dance classes, horse-back riding lessons, Quidditch and football practices, and piano lessons. After pleading with her parents, her mother has started tutoring her in a few beginning spells and potions where she has caught on quickly. Her mother, not wanting to let Sarah get too far ahead of her future classmates, has encouraged the girl to read some of the old text books left behind by her brother and cousins which she has done, but not to the extent that her mother had hoped she would. Or, perhaps exactly as she had hoped. Sarah backed off somewhat in learning magic early, but as her time to start Hogwarts is approaching, she has picked up the books.
Personality Description: Sarah really isn’t as spoiled as she comes off. Being the youngest grandchild on both sides of her family, she got a lot of fussing over, but she was still required to do her chores, had actually been told no on more than a few occasions, and she still had to use her cousins’ hand-me-downs. Fortunately for Sarah, both Allegra and Kyrie were nice dressers and took care of their things, so hand-me-downs were almost a treat. Triple the wardrobe and none of the fuss over excessive shopping.
Sarah knows she’s cute, but tries not to flaunt it in other people’s faces because that would be mean and she really doesn’t care for mean people. She understands that being cute is a responsibility, and the power that comes with it needs to be treated with respect. She's confident and approaches most situations expecting to get what she wants. If she doesn't, she'll usually find some other way to reach her goal.
While she is definitely a girly-girl who appreciates looking nice and being well-groomed, she is neither stupid nor naïve and will stick up for herself as well as any of her friends. She is outgoing and tries to be friendly to everyone, but is generally unforgiving if someone is mean or rude to someone she cares about. She is outspoken and not afraid of getting dirty. That’s why bubble baths were invented.
Physical Description: Sarah, like the rest of her family, is tall for her age, but hasn’t hit her growth spurt quite yet. Standing at 5’2” she tries her best to be well poised at all times and usually has a smile on her face (unless she’s trying to get her way, in which case she’s using her perfect pout). She usually wears her long blonde hair in soft, big curls and prefers ponytails with ribbons as they tend to keep the curl longer than wearing her hair down. She has bright blue eyes and a perky nose which she believes is perfect.
She usually wears dresses or skirts, but is not totally against shorts, pants or trainers if the weather or situation calls for them. No matter what she decides to wear, it is neat, and clean, and definitely cute. She claims pink as her signature color, but is brave enough to stray into purples and sometimes even blues or reds, being that they look so nice with pink.

Special Talents: Sarah is quite talented at coordinating outfits to the proper handbag and shoes. She is also a hair curling expert and though she is not allowed to wear make-up, that does not stop her from practicing every once in a while, when she can. She is an excellent shopper and party-goer and has recently perfected the hair toss as well as puppy-eyes, pouting, and eyelash-batting.
Aside from the superficial sorts of things, she actually is quite talented in magic and shows promise in charms especially. She is a decent quidditch player and enjoys swimming. She can ride English, Western, and side-saddle and plays some piano. She enjoys dancing, playing football, and reading teen-age romance novels.
RP Example:
Some times, people just did not realize how hard it was to be cute. While some people thought it was okay to fawn all over you and pinch your cheeks or pat your head, others automatically assumed you were a snotty brat and right away treated you as such. It really wasn't fair.
She worked very hard to be a nice person, knowing she couldn't help being cute anymore than others could help being not cute. It was just the way things were and it did not mean cute was better than not cute. Therefore, when the new girl walked into her year six class, she knew it was her responsibility to go up and make friends.
Straightening her school skirt and giving her blonde hair a quick toss, she ignored the rest of her snickering classmates and bounced over to the nervous new comer. "Hello! My name's Sarah Taylor! Welcome to Saint Bernard's. What's your name?"
