An understanding of the magical properties of numbers will come in handy if you plan on pursuing a career in Wizarding high finance, but those aren’t the only people you’ll find in Arithmancy class. While it’s not necessarily the most popular of electives, you’ll still find a number of students sitting in on lessons. Your Muggle calkey-laters won’t work here, so the complicated number charts on the wall and the equations on the chalkboards must be memorized.
